This is my first self-built bass, and also my first real woodworking project.
I'm presenting it as I built it, mostly in chronological order, but I will
shuffle some things around a bit rather than jumping back and forth between
two concurrent parts. I got some good advice from several folks
over at the talkbass.com "Luthiers' corner" forum. I didn't exactly listen
to all of it, but even the stuff I ignored was food for thought. so I'd like
to thank anyone who gave me any advice during the build whether I used it or
not.
I'll do my best to point out any mistakes I made, and the things which I will
do differently next time. Hopefully this will make it a useful pictorial to
others considering building their first bass (or guitar I suppose).
